Skin microbiome: or skin flora, is the collection of microorganisms (including bacteria, fungi, viruses and mites) present on the skin, living in perfect symbiosis with our body · Probiotics: living microorganisms (also called "good bacteria") which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host Prebiotics: nutrients for "good bacteria" · Postbiotics: bacterial-derived products

Did you know that the skin is the largest organ of human body? Exactly like our gut, there is also a skin microbiota. An alteration of the microbiota, due to various external factors or stress, can increase states of inflammation and metabolic pathologies. However, recent studies show that it is possible to take "good bacteria" through special cosmetic formulations. How? Since probiotics are living microorganisms and would not survive within cosmetics, in cosmetic formulations we will find Postbiotics (preparations of inanimate microorganisms and/or their components that confers a health benefit to the host) + Prebiotics, also known as “nutrients” for the good bacteria already present in our skin. The combination of pre + postbiotics guarantees an optimal mix for restoring the skin barrier.
